Habit: Large shrub, small tree 5-9 m. high.
Foliage: Elliptic to ovate, finely serrated, 4-7 cm long with distinctive curved nerves.
Flower: Yellow-green 2-5 together in tassels, fragrant, inconspicuous, fourparted with yellow-green petals. Black, juicy berries.
Site: Shade tolerant, hardy, light demanding and otherwise no special requirements, however, often thrive on calcareous soils.
Use: Forest, shrubs, windbreaks etc.
