Fagus sylvatica [Common beech]

Habit: Large tree, 30-40 m. high.
Foliage: Light green egg shaped 4-8 cm long, darker later in the summer.
Flower: Tassel-shaped and long-stemmed male flower.
Site: T
hrives in forest areas, tolerates shade, hardy, withstands wind - but not on wet sites. Frost sensitive in Spring.
Use: Solitary, hedge, windbreaks, forest etc.
