Habit: Very large tree, 30-35 m high. Introduced in Denmark around 1700
Needles: Small light green needles in bundles of 30-40
Flowers: Purple almost round female flowers and yellow oval male flowers. 2-4 cm long, brown oval cones
Site: Sunny to partial shade, hardy, prefers a protected site .Does not thrive in wet soil
